More space using magnum board

Their children were growing, so the Smidt family needed more space at home. They initially considered an addition, but that would have made the beautiful garden considerably smaller. So they decided on greater height: and wanted to add one more floor. In addition to rapid completion of building, the use of ecological materials and a comfortable atmosphere were important to the Smidts. That is why the Smidt family chose the magnum board solid timber building system. The expansion was carried out quickly, easily and economically with 31 cubic meters of magnum board – without any moisture from the building process in the new floor or the already existing parts of the building.

The nearly joint-free 312 square meters of magnum board elements with wall thicknesses ranging from 75 to 100 millimeters offered ideal conditions for the architectural construction ideas of the builder while also fulfilling the wishes of the Smidt family.

The whole family is thrilled and confirms that magnum board is also impressive when it comes to sound insulation. Through the use of one-piece structural components and the precise measurements this makes possible, magnum board allows excellent sound proofing characteristics to be achieved: When the Smidt children turn up their music upstairs in their new comfortable rooms the parents are not disturbed.
